CORRECTIONS
Corrections
KWaveWire publishes the edit history of its articles. Corrections that change a fact are also shown on the article itself.
When an error is confirmed in an article, we fix it as quickly as possible. Corrections that change a fact are noted separately at the top or bottom of the article, and the same notes are collected here in chronological order. Where there is a significant risk of rights infringement or privacy concerns, we may unpublish part or all of a story.
Response principles
Requests for corrections, takedowns, or rights infringement are handled directly by KWaveWire. Once received, we respond under the following principles.
- First reply within 72 hours— we confirm receipt and report the status of our review to the requester's email.
- Final resolution within 14 days — we report the outcome, such as publishing a correction, editing the text, unpublishing, or removal. If additional fact-checking is needed, we still update you on the status within 14 days.
- Matters with a high likelihood of rights infringement — such as defamation, image rights, or protection of minors — move quickly to a review for unpublishing or removal even before the first reply.
These principles are standards KWaveWire sets voluntarily, not the legal obligations of a registered press outlet.
Replies and objections
Even when there is no factual error, an individual or organization named in a story who believes their position was conveyed unfairly may request a reply (inclusion of their position) or an objection. This is a separate process from a correction that fixes a factual error or a takedown that removes a post.
- If the request is reasonable, we add the party's position or reply to the article, or use an editor's note to restore balance and context.
- If a factual error is also confirmed during review, we move to the correction process; if the likelihood of rights infringement is high, we move to a review for unpublishing or removal.
- The receipt and handling of requests follow the same response principles above (first reply within 72 hours / final resolution within 14 days).
This reply and objection process is a standard KWaveWire sets voluntarily and differs from any statutory right-of-reply or arbitration procedure under applicable law.
How to request
